A few good questions
Before you begin.
What can I personalise?
Your location, map style, colours, captions, size and frame preview. City maps can include markers for meaningful places. Star maps let you choose a place, date and time, and 2D maps can include your own GPX route.
Can I print my map?
Yes. For paper artwork, choose your size in the studio, then export an SVG or PNG, or use Print / PDF. Print at home or with a print shop. For physical relief maps, export an STL or colour 3MF model from the 3D print studio. Printing and frames are arranged separately.
How are 3D artwork and 3D printed maps different?
3D artwork uses perspective, depth and shadow to create an image for a flat paper print. The 3D print studio creates a raised model from real terrain and buildings, with STL and colour 3MF exports for a 3D printer. Its framed preview shows how the relief could look; printing and display frames are arranged separately.
Can I come back to my design?
The studio remembers your latest work in this browser. Use Save design in the editor to download an editable copy you can keep and reopen later. Open the studio to continue where you left off.
Are the maps based on real places?
Yes. City maps use real geographic data, and star maps use astronomical catalogues for your chosen place and time. New locations need an internet connection. The posters in every photograph were exported by this studio, then placed into generated room scenes. Only presentation effects—perspective, mats and room lighting—are added to the photographs. Artwork downloads include the clean original SVG and PNG plus credits for the back of the poster. Full source credits are available through each design’s Source credits link. The paper-relief effect is printed artwork; it does not imply a physical layered-paper product.
